European promotion of the event on the rich Armenian female cultural heritage in Greece thanks to an initiative by the Greek General Secretariat for Gender Equality
Following the initiative by the General Secretariat for Gender Equality (GSGE), i.e. the governmental organization in charge of equality between women and men, for the promotion of the rich Armenian female cultural heritage in Greece, we would like to inform you that, thanks to the efforts by the competent GSGE Director for Development & Support of Policies on Gender Equality, the event has gained an international promotion, that is to say within the 28 Member States of the European Union and beyond: http://www.isotita.gr/en/initiative-greek-general-secretariat-gender-equality-promotion-rich-armenian-female-cultural-heritage-greece/ .
The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) is an autonomous body which operates within the framework of European Union policies and initiatives. The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union defined the grounds for the Institute’s objectives and tasks in its Founding Regulation and assigned it the central role of addressing the challenges of and promoting equality between women and men across the European Union. To support better-informed policy-making, the EIGE contributes to the promotion of gender equality in Europe through delivering high-level expertise to the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Member States and Enlargement countries (relevant website: www.eige.europa.eu ).
EuroGender is EIGE’s online cooperation and consultation hub that allows all its members to share knowledge and contribute to advancing gender equality in Europe and beyond (relevant website:http://eurogender.eige.europa.eu/ ).
The Greek General Secretariat for Gender Equality has taken advantage of the EuroGender online hub and the relevant information on the rich Armenian female cultural heritage has already been uploaded on the high profile online platform with the inclusion of a characteristic photograph of folk dances by Armenian women: http://eurogender.eige.europa.eu/posts/initiative-greek-general-secretariat-gender-equality-promotion-rich-armenian-female-cultural .
In that way, further promotion and greater visibility of our joint commitment to equality between women and men in Greece and Armenia have been achieved by our initiative among competent European and international stakeholders.
