In the framework of this axis, the GSGE will pursue:

Acceleration of the implementation of all measures and activities of the 3rd Community Support Framework that concern women in the framework of the Operational Programme «Employment and Vocational Training» and the Operational Programme «Competitiveness». Particular emphasis will be put on the promotion of employment and the support and reinforcement of the entrepreneurial skills of women.
To enhance women's employment, the implementation of the project "Integrated Interventions in favour of women" (Measure 5.3), of a total budget of 53 million Euro is already launched, with a significant impact regionally, and geographical diffusion to all rural areas of the country. This project is expected to provide consultation, training and employment to 9.018 women, while the target of the GSGE is to extend the programme to greater numbers of unemployed women.
At the same time, a second important project, namely, "Positive Actions for the equality of opportunities between men and women in middle-sized and large enterprises" (Measure 5.1), in which 35 enterprises take part, is in the beginning of its implementation process. The GSGE is to proceed to publicizing a notice for the second stage of the project in the 1st semester of the year 2005.

Reinforcement, improvement and extension of services and/or structures for the reconciliation of family and working life and family support.

Elimination of the legislative gaps (eg in taxation, labour or family matters) and immediate integration of the European legislation in such matters as sexual / moral harassment etc. Improvement of the monitoring of the implementation of legislation on equal treatment between the sexes at work, collective labour agreements and arbitration decisions, by mobilisation of the controlling mechanisms.

Signing of Memorandums of Cooperation with top organizations of social partners and the Greek Network for the Social Responsibility of Enterprises, aiming at the promotion of equality actions.

Consideration of the possibility to provide strong economic and other motives (eg tax alleviations, reduction of insurance fees, economic benefits) to enterprises of both the private and public sector, in order to promote, with specific activities, gender equality at the workplace, following certification of the implementation of relevant programmes.
